Kenjutsu is a military art form which was created in Japan in the 15th century where it was primarily designed to prepare Samurai, as well as ordinary soldiers, for combat. The main emphasis of Kenjutsu centres around the practice of swordsmanship and can be considered the study of strategy of both offensive and defensive techniques.
Triumph Kenjutsu training largely consists of practising cutting techniques and performing Kata. For safety reasons in free sparring we use a soft sword rather than a Bokken (wooden sword) or Iaito (metal practice sword).
